Maternity, Well-baby, and Sterilization Information  

Maternity coverage refers to any service for diagnosis, treatment, and delivery related to a pregnancy. Maternity coverage begins after the office visit confirming pregnancy and continues through delivery or termination of the pregnancy, either spontaneous or therapeutic (abortion).

Charges can include:
  • Prenatal exams
  • Delivery
  • Anesthesia
  • Pain management
  • Hospital stay for labor and delivery
  • Postpartum follow-up visits at the doctor's office
  • Charges for the well-baby newborn while they are confined to the hospital
    Note: Well-baby charges are accrued to the newborns benefits while confined to the hospital (deductible, coinsurance, and OOP)
  • Circumcision


Be sure to check your benefit plan for specifics on maternity coverage, including breast pump equipment and supplies.

1. Once signed into your MyHumana account, hover over Coverage and Spending, and click on Coverage and Benefits
2. This will provide a high level overview of your plan benefits
3. For more specifics, you can click on Coverage Details next to Medical Benefit Overview. This will bring you to your actual certificate of coverage.
