Please provide a contact that I can share feedback and ask questions regarding changes to Humana's 2019 formulary. Thanks.
We would be happy to help address any questions you may have. Feel free to post them here.
Thanks. My questions are regarding discontinuing coverage of the FreeStyle Libre CGM. This relatively inexpensive CGM has been a great step into technology and saved my daughter's fingers from 8-10 finger pokes a day, and made checking her blood sugar easy at school and overnight. Please explain why we would not want to make this more widely available, promote usage and share it with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics? In addition to the standard 10 day sensor, a 14 day sensor is now available!
We recently started the Dex6, it has been a hassle - and very expensive in relation to the Libre to cover. While the Libre doesn't offer notifications to be sent to phones, the Dex6 isn't working for us either.
I'm happy to share additional feedback regarding our experience.
That makes sense. CGM devices are not covered under your pharmacy side of the plan, instead it is processed through medical.
The Drug Formulary pharmacy benefits apply to diabetic supplies such as glucose meters, test strips, lancets, and insulin.
We have two preferred providers to which we refer our members to for CGM equipment. They are Dexcom 1-858-200-0200 and CCS Medical 1-877-531-7959.
The actual devices offered would be best discussed with the provider directly.
But wait so what are you doing here as the community manager to help us out with questions? We do not need another thing with no information wasting our time. We are already wasting our time by having to get on here and search for a place to ask these dumb questions.
Good morning - I am sorry to hear of your frustration and would be happy to provide support or further direction. I do see that you have a question via another thread and I will address it there.
