Which breast pumps are covered by my insurance policy?
First, congratulations on your new addition! I am sure this is quite the exciting time for you and your family!
In review of your benefits, Humana does offer coverage to eligible breast feeding equipment at a 100% (when received in network).
Covered• Capped rental pumps (electric breast pump or hospital grade/electric breast pump).• Inexpensive and other routinely purchased pumps (manual pump).• Replacement of pumps for each birth event or every five years, unless documentation supports that the pump was lost, stolen, or irreparably damaged (if not under warranty).
Not Covered• Humana does not cover pumps or supplies purchased at a retail store.
Other Information• Breast pumps can be purchased any time before or after the birth of the baby, per the provider that approves and/or prescribes the pump. Verify with your provider if you are eligible for a breast pump.• The provider must be an in-network Durable Medical Equipment provider or qualified healthcare practitioner for 100% coverage under the provision.• Out of Network provider benefits are covered under the normal out of network plan provisions.
