I went to the hospital for an out-patient surgical procedure on 12/10/19. The doctor began the procedure, but the hospital's instrument failed. It was determined that the instrument was defective. The procedure was cancelled. The hospital has ordered a replacement instrument and the procedure will be rescheduled in the future.
The hospital billed Humana for the failed procedure. The failure was due to the hospital's defective instrument, so I believe the hospital should not be compensated.
I called Humana and spoke with an agent. She said she would refer to issue to another department, but I got the impression that she felt that the hospital was entitled to compensation. The Reference Number for our phone conversation is 142620.
Please respond to me when this issue has been resolved.
